SF1 assisting ground units with adult male that fell 50-60 feet down steep embankment and became trapped between tractor and the ground. Units on the ground advise that due to steep terrain in the area that insertion of ALS rescue persons and extrication of patient will be safest and easiest by hoist. SF1 conducted brief and inserted rescuer to gegin patient care. IC indictaes that theycan get the extrication litter to the patients side easier by walking it than by having us lower the device. SF1 landed and passed the litter to ground units who carried it to patients side. SF1 delivered empty hook to rescuer and patient and hoisted them out of ravine. Crew Chief elected to leave them 7m below aircraft due to short flight to LZ. Patient set on the ground without incident and loaded in aircraft for transport.
